This is a great basic dog leash – the quality of the materials, including the hardware, is good. I like that the clasp at the end is a D-ring (with a safety mechanism) instead of the typical lobster claw-like clasp. The D-ring that is used here is pretty good, but if you have a bigger dog, or a dog that pulls, I would find a way to attach a stronger/more heavy-duty carabiner, just in case. The handle is nicely padded and is very comfortable. Overall this is a really good quality leash that is comfortable for long walks, looks great, and is a great value for the price point.

Perfect for midsize pullers.We have a rescue Husky that we're working with, trying to get her more leash friendly.Right now she's a puller and this leash is a good length for us to start training her in to a closer walking style.We don't really need or want her to walk at our side and not enjoy time to smell the bushes and so forth - we want her to learn that she can have a little distance - without pulling.Our community is very rural and there is always danger of snakes, coyotes, and even mountain lions so a shorter lead is a good thing for us.This leash is five feet long - perfect for our purposes.The leash is very strong and I don't have any worry that she'll pull it to a breaking or snapping point.The fabric handle is very soft - somewhat feels like it may be neoprene, maybe.The handle is large, I think you could fit three hands in it all at once.The carabiner is large and it means business - very solid and shuts completely.You have to turn the larger/wider section of the carabiner and push it to open it up and it will snap back into a closed position as soon as you let it.The blue is bright and cheerful and looks as advertised.The leash doesn't have much stretchiness or give to it at all.I do wish the handle section was the same color as the leash but not a big deal & doesn't take away from the functionality of the leash.For as thick and solid as it it - it doesn't weigh much and shouldn't put any pressure on your pup or your wrist.The fact that you have to give the carabiner a quick turn as opposed to just pushing it - makes this leash require a split second more effort than the traditional type - not an issue at all and well worth the added precaution.Overall very happy with this leash and our walks with our Husky girl are getting better every day.

Personal, this said 5FT but it seemed a lot shorter in person. Great durability and quality though. Looks stylish for walks and control. Good value for a dog leash. Only wish it was actually longer, or long as it says it is. Not sure what happened.

Overall we're happy with this leash, as it does what it's intended to do. However, the carabiner on the end just makes it feel clunky. It functions fine, feels comfortable in the hand and is super easy to use. Durability doesn't seem like an issue, though we've only used it for a short time. It's just that I'd rather have a conventional clip on the end than that carabiner. Overall good value for the cost.

Great leash, not chew-proof though

I don't usually write reviews. But after being on a endless search to find a new leash similar to the leash I had always used that was discontinued. I have finally found it in this leash. I love the handle, the secure lock and the lightness of the leash. My dog also very much aporoves. I will be ordering more to have as back ups.

Perfect leash for comfort and functionality

I took my girl hiking over the weekend while using this leash and it works great! She is a Houdini hound and the clasp used here is not coming undone. It is a simple, yet effective, design and the metal is strong. It is easy to attach, you just give the latch a twist to release and clip it on. Removal is the same. Once closed, it automatically locks in place. This leash is a good length for control and yet still allows her to explore some. The handle is super cushioned and comfy. This is a durable leash and is suitable for large dogs as well. I love the rope design, it feels sturdy and is good on your hands. Overall, I highly recommend this leash and will be reaching for this one for our walks.
